Apple Red Devil
Bred from Apple Discovery in Kent in 1979, mid-season dessert Apple Red Devil is self-fertile, so is a good choice for a single apple tree in a small garden. The fruit is medium-sized and completely and intensely red. The pink-tinged flesh is juicy and sweet, with a good acid balance and strawberry flavour; it gives a beautiful, balanced pink juice. The tree is moderately vigorous, upright and spreading, and a heavy cropper. Spur-bearer; comes early into bearing. Apple Red Devil has good resistance to scab and mildew, and is a good choice for wetter areas.
